ABC Countdown to the Last Day of School: Letter Rr is Rose Day
Letter Rr is for Rose Day!
What is a rose? Let’s join the ladybug as it finds out what it looks like.
This is a story about a rose. This type of story has a moral. A moral is a lesson that the author tries to teach the reader through the story. Listen to the story and see if you can figure out what the author is trying to teach us.
If you like working with flowers, you might grow flowers as a gardener or farmer. You might study how plants grow as a botanist. Or you might work in a flower shop as a florist. Let’s take a look at what it’s like to be a florist.
Here’s a song about flowers.
This song is called “Love is a Rose”. The words say, “Love is a rose but you’d better not pick it, it only grows when it’s on the vine. Handful of thorns and you know you’ve missed it, lose your love when you say the word mine.” What do you think that means?
Let’s learn about roses and other flowers.
Let’s read a book about flowers: Who Loves Flowers
Did you know that we eat all the different parts of plants? Let’s read: I Can Eat a Whole Plant
Have you ever visited a farm? What can you see at a farm? What do farmers do?
Let’s draw some flowers!
