About

mrsbacchus

Hi! I’m Megan.

I’m an Ontario educator, Special Education Resource Teacher, and the creator behind Bacchus Class.

I believe learning should be engaging, accessible, and designed with different kinds of learners in mind.

Learning for every kind of mind.

I’ve spent much of my teaching career working in Kindergarten, the primary grades, and Special Education. Those experiences have shaped almost everything I create.

I love taking big curriculum expectations, complicated skills, or overwhelming topics and turning them into something teachers can actually use: clear mini-lessons, meaningful visuals, simple activities, and resources that help students participate successfully.

What You’ll Find at Bacchus Class

I create practical resources for busy educators, with a particular focus on:

  • Kindergarten math and literacy
  • Ontario curriculum-aligned resources
  • Special Education and neurodiversity
  • Social-emotional learning
  • Executive functioning and self-regulation
  • Visual supports and accessible learning
  • Interactive digital learning activities

Many of my resources begin with something I need for my own students. If I can make a concept clearer, a routine easier, or a lesson more engaging for the learners in front of me, there’s a good chance another teacher could use it too.

That’s really what Bacchus Class is about: creating useful things that make teaching a little easier and learning a little more accessible.

From Teacher Blog to Bacchus Class

I started this website early in my teaching career as a place to share resources with my students and their families.

Then, in 2012, I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store.

Since then, Bacchus Class has grown far beyond that original classroom website. I’ve created curriculum resources, digital activities, interactive learning tools, and materials used by teachers and students well beyond my own classroom.

And I’m still creating.

Recently, I’ve been especially interested in finding new ways to combine education, technology, accessibility, and play. That includes developing simple interactive learning apps as well as creating resources that support executive functioning, communication, emotional regulation, and early academic skills.

My goal is never to add more stuff to a teacher’s plate.

It’s to create the resource that makes you think:

“Perfect. That’s one less thing I have to figure out.”

A Little About Me

Outside of school and Bacchus Class, I’m a mom to two boys and usually have another project or adventure on the go.

I love travelling, hiking, learning new things, finding ridiculously good deals, dreaming up new projects, and going much too far down research rabbit holes when something catches my interest.

That curiosity is probably one of the reasons this website has evolved so much over the years, and I expect it will keep evolving.

I’m Glad You’re Here

Whether you came looking for a Kindergarten math unit, a Special Education resource, an idea for your classroom, or a freebie that saves you some planning time, I hope you find something that makes your day easier.

You can explore my resources here on Bacchus Class, visit my Teachers Pay Teachers store, or follow @bacchusclass on Instagram for new resources, classroom ideas, freebies, and behind-the-scenes looks at what I’m creating.
