Homemade Play Dough Recipe
Procedural texts tell us HOW TO DO something. Instructions, how-to books or articles, and recipes are examples of Procedural Writing.
When you are writing the procedure for how to do something, you need to include a list of materials or ingredients, steps, and pictures to show each step.
Here is a recipe that is often used in our class: Homemade Play Dough! Try following the instructions and making it at home with your family.
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 tbsp oil
1 cup salt
1 tbsp powdered alum (*Alum can be found at Bulk Barn, Walmart, and many grocery stores in the spices or baking aisle.)
3 cups hot water
Food colouring
Steps:
1. Mix dry ingredients together.
2. Add hot water and food colouring.
3. Mix.
4. Once it cools enough, knead it with your hands.
5. Add extra flour if needed to make a good play dough consistency.
