Favourite Books Friday: Books about Names

As the school year starts and we get to know each other, learning to recognize names is one of the first skills we teach and I have some recommendations for great books about names. Students’ cubbies and coat hooks are labelled with their names. We also use small rocks with their names to sign in each morning. Students gain independence finding their names throughout September. We also recognize the diversity of our class and learn to pronounce each name properly.

Here are my favourite books about names.

Tip: These books are available on Amazon.ca for quick purchase. You can help support this blog by purchasing the children’s book(s) through this link.
