Favourite Books Friday: Books About Winter
I’m always on the lookout for new children’s books to read to my students during winter. I love finding stories that are set in winter and that celebrate all of the fun things that come with the season.
Hibernation is always a big point of interest – where do all the animals go in the winter? This topic has often led to a class inquiry in the past.
Snow itself is so much fun to explore. Bring some inside to look at up close in a sensory bin. Or take some spray bottles with coloured water out and decorate the wintery white canvas outside.
Best of all, come inside after to warm up and listen to a good story about winter. Here are some of my favourite kids books about winter. I hope you and your students enjoy reading them as much as we have!
